#1 - Par 4
409409390379365365
Caddie Notes:
After laying up to the creek, the player will need to hit a solid 165-180 yard second shot up the hill to a green guarded on the right by bunkers and a severe downslope on the left. While the green does not look intimidating, it is one of the most difficult to read on the course.

#2 - Par 4
440440400371334334
Caddie Notes:
This is one of the best par 4s on the property. The tee shot needs to be center to left-center to avoid the overhanging trees on both sides of the fairway. Next up is a blind second shot to a triple-tiered green that is sure to challenge even the finest of putters.

#3 - Par 4
459433396375353353
Caddie Notes:
A 394-yard par 4, this dogleg left is a good test right out of the gate. A right-to-left tee shot that can carry the fairway bunkers is a must in order to have a medium-length shot to this large, undulating green with a false front.

#4 - Par 4
482420403380380285
Caddie Notes:
This is another testy par 4 that requires a solid tee shot to the top of the hill. The second shot is very challenging, as the player must carry the creek and fly the ball onto this tightly bunkered, undulating green. A good read from your caddie is a must as this green is difficult to read. A par on this hole feels like a birdie.

#5 - Par 3
182171152139125125
Caddie Notes:
This par 3 requires an uphill tee shot to a narrow green that runs away from the player front to back. A precise tee shot is a must, as the green is guarded by deep bunkers front and left, and the right side falls steeply to the bottom of the hill. The green is always faster than it looks, so have a soft touch with your putter.

#7 - Par 3
243210183158158158
Caddie Notes:
A stout par 3 that features a wide green that runs severely from right to left. The best point of entry is the front right side of the green, allowing the ball to feed down the slope toward the hole. A putt with 2-3 feet of break is not uncommon on this old classic.

#8 - Par 4
375361337310310310
Caddie Notes:
A traditional second-shot hole, the green is perched atop a hill with a big drop-off to the right and left of the green, ensuring a challenging approach shot. The putting surface is testing as well, as the green slopes significantly from back to front.

#10 - Par 5
500500478448448410
Caddie Notes:
This par 5 is a beauty. Accuracy off the tee is a must, as a creek runs down the left side, then crosses the fairway 145 yards from the green. Third shots into this green can be difficult to judge as the green is sharply elevated and very deep. Typical of the South Course, this green is very subtle and will penalize the player who gets careless with the first putt.

#11 - Par 4
345331331288260260
Caddie Notes:
While this par 4 is relatively short, the player must be careful to choose the right club off the tee. A creek crosses the fairway 100 yards from the green and the fairway is split in two by a large bunker, so a decision on which side of the fairway to play from is a must.

#12 - Par 3
212200170150150121
Caddie Notes:
One of the more picturesque holes on the golf course, this par 3 presents a number of challenges. An uphill tee shot into the wind can make club decision difficult. The green slopes significantly from back to front and is guarded by large bunkers on all sides. Keep the tee shot below the hole to have a run at a birdie putt.

#13 - Par 4
415395380348348318
Caddie Notes:
This par 4 usually plays into the wind. Trouble is everywhere off the tee, so a precise shot is a must. A creek runs down the left side of a sloping fairway that feeds the tee shots to the left side. A challenging second shot off the sloped fairway to a shallow green with a false front makes it difficult to get the ball close to the hole. This hole will impact many matches.

#14 - Par 3
150150135135100100
Caddie Notes:
This relatively short par 3 is a bit of a respite from the rigors of the previous holes. Club selection is key as the wind usually swirls around this corner of the golf course. Once on the green, get a good read on your putt, as this green is full of surprises.

#15 - Par 4
430430382342342342
Caddie Notes:
A straightaway par 4 with a tee shot that must be threaded through the trees. The second shot is key as this wide, multi-tiered green challenges the player to find the correct quadrant of the green to avoid long, double-breaking putts. Typical of the South Course, this green can fool you if you're not paying attention.

365365342307275275
Caddie Notes:
This par 4 is in keeping with the classic design of the South Course. After a blind tee shot over the hill, the player is faced with a daunting second shot to a challenging green that features a large false front and a very small area in the back of the green to stop the ball.

#17 - Par 4/5
460440411402360360
Caddie Notes:
This dogleg right is a favorite of Olympia Fields members. Many players will hit 3-wood to the corner of the dogleg, leaving some 190 yards through the trees to the green. Club selection is important as this is a three-club green front to back. A wayward tee shot could decide many a match.

#18 - Par 5
530530503470470430
Caddie Notes:
A scenic par 5, most players will require three shots on the march to the clock tower. The third shot is key, as the player will be required to hit a blind, uphill shot to a multi-tiered green. Once on the green the player must be focused of the speed of the putt, as many a player has had their breath taken away by the surprises that lie beneath this green. Perhaps the ghost of Bendelow?
