The Youth Ministry of the Odon Christian Church strives to teach a generation of young people to love the Lord and not be ashamed of the gospel. This is accomplished through our ministry goals which includes helping our youth develop a personal relationship with God; involving students in daily Bible Study and prayer; building a Christ-like attitude and spirit; developing quality leadership; and equipping our youth to go into the world to teach the gospel. Our ministry seeks to help our youth connect with God in a real and personal way. We desire to see youth develop healthy relationships with their family and their peers while they grow in their faith. It is our hope that all youth will learn what it means to truly walk with Jesus no matter where they are in life.

 

Sunday Mornings:

- Nursery is available for Newborns to age 2.

- Sunday School classes are offered for children in the following groups: 2-3 years; 4-5 years; Grades K-1; Grades 2-3; Grade 4; Grades 5-6; Jr. High and High School.

We offer special large group programming for our 2-5 year olds and our Elementary age children during the 10:30 am worship service. JAM (K-6th) and Wee Worship (2-5 years of age) both use the Veggie Connections curriculum. Each year is divided into six, 8 week lesson series where the students will learn about Faith, Communication, Love, Trust, Time and Joy.

 

Wednesday Evenings:

- Nursery is available for Newborns to age 3.

- Preschool is available for 3 years of age to those not yet in Kindergarten.

- Investigation Station meets in the upstairs classrooms in the newer part of the building and is for Kindergarten to 3rd grade students.

- TREKS (Through Righteousness we Experience a Kinder Spirit) is a dynamic program for 4th-6th grade students.

- QUEST is a program designed for our Jr. & Sr. High youth to help them in their spiritual journey. Because being a Christian isn't always easy, we strive to offer the tools to make things a little easier. It is in this time that we worship together, learn together, and have fun together. Too many of us think that we are doing it alone when we really aren't.

 

Special Events:

We have a variety of special events throughout the year such as Vacation Bible School, Camp Illiana, Christ In Youth, Passion for Purity, Men of Integrity, New Years Eve and Super Bowl parties.

Each Summer we encourage our students to attend Camp Illiana for a week of summer camp. Check out Camp Illiana's website for more details regarding dates, etc.

Christ In Youth (CIY) is a national organization based in Joplin, MO. For our Sr. High students, CIY offers "Summer Conference". For our Jr. High students, CIY offers "Believe".

Passion for Purity is our annual retreat for Sr. High Girls to focus on purity in all areas of life. This is always an incredible weekend for High School girls to get away from everything else and encourage each other in their relationship with God and with people in the world.

Men of Integrity is our annual retreat for Sr. High guys to focus on living a life of character and integrity. This weekend is filled with high energy testosterone filled events and encourages our Sr. High guys to be Men of Integrity.

We offer a New Year's Eve party every year complete with giveaways.

And finally, who doesn't love the hype around the Super Bowl? So why not make a party out of it?
