This is a program for anyone struggling with past or current dysfunctions or compulsions, whether they are affecting their own life or the lives of those around them. The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God's healing power in our lives through the 8 Recovery Principles found in the Beatitudes and Christ-centered 12 steps. This experience allows us to "be changed". We open the door by sharing our experiences, victories and hopes with one another as well as learning to accept God's grace in our lives. MISSIONS Our short term mission trips began in 2002 with a five day journey to Washington D.C. to help with a new church plant, Journey's Crossing. We spent the week working on publicity for the church as well as building items that were used to transport everything necessary to run a church in a movie theatre. The team was made up of all age groups with a total team of 23. The second year we went to Show Low, Arizona to help American Indian Christian Mission (AICM). This was a full seven day journey that included work at the school in the morning with our afternoons spent on the reservation working with children. The team again was made up of all age groups with a total team of 28. The third year we took two teams to very different areas. One team went back to Show Low, Arizona to help AICM and the second team went to the Dominican Republic. The first team completed a lot of similar tasks as the year before and completed a bible school program for AICM. The second team did a lot of work for new church plants in the D.R. We poured concrete for two days, completely wired a church on another day and did various jobs including visiting the orphanage. The fourth year we took three teams to different areas. One team went back to Show Low, Arizona to help AICM and the second team went to Montana to help Pinehaven Children's Ranch and the third team went to Mississippi. The first team completed various tasks at the school and visited the reservation. The first team included the life team that presented a puppet show and helped complete a full week of bible school for the Apache children. The second team completed various tasks for Pinehaven including making fire wood every day, garden work, construction of the shop, finishing a new house, and various other items to help out. The third team completed clean up in the Mississippi area where Katrina did a lot of damage. The fifth year has plans to return to Show Low, Arizona this time to help Dunamis Ministries. They are scheduled to complete a bible school, work at the rainbow center, work in the jail ministry, and work with the pregnancy crisis center as well as install a cattle gate at the ranch. We will again be prepared to send a relief team to storm damaged areas on an if needed basis.
